​Graduation is almost here! Here is a list of reminders:
Baby Photos:
​Please send a maximum of 10 photos. These will be used for a presentation the day of graduation. The photos should include a Baby, Toddler, current, and family photos.
Name on Diploma:
Visit https://www.highpointcoralway.com/8th-grade.html and indicate how you want your child's name to appear on the diploma.
Transcripts:
Notify Ms. Angie the high school your child will be attending for us to submit your child's transcripts
Class Trip to Islands of Adventure and Universal: 
May 14th and 15th  Instructions will be sent home.
May 16th -  8th Grade Skip Day
Cap and Gown Photos:
The graduation portraits with the cap and gown will be taken here at the school late February / early March.
Graduation Announcements: 
All families will be receiving graduation announcements to share with family and friends.

​​High School Admissions 2025-2026

Below you can download a list we have put together of private high schools that accept the Family Empowerment Scholarships. These are recommended schools and not a complete list of private high schools in Miami- Dade County. The list includes school contact information,  Open House Dates, and admissions test dates.  Visit each school's website for more information.
To request prior year’s report cards and SAT scores, email Ms. Angie and she will submit the documents directly to the high school.


Standard High School Diploma Requirements

The Florida Department of Education (Florida Statute 6A-1.09961) requires ​24 Credits for a High School Diploma.  Credits are composed of Core and Elective Credits. Core credits include:
  • 4 Math
  • 4 English
  • 3 Science
  • 3 Social Studies
  • 2 Foreign Language


​Public, Charter and Magnet High Schools

Students who are recipients of the Gardiner, Step- or McKay scholarship still have the option to apply to a Public, Charter or Magnet program in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Once enrolled, the student will no longer be eligible for any of these scholarships and will need to re-apply if they wish to transfer to a private school.
